Due to a lack of posting here lately, you may be unaware that Ana & Maci are both at home for their schooling this year.
We are really enjoying the slower pace during the day, while also achieving what needs to be achieved in order to keep Ana (especially) learning what she need to learn this first grade year.
We are enjoying Explode the Code (phonics) & lots of early readers, plus a DK first grade math (starting simply there). A fun project we did this week was a garden plan inspired by the book Princess Chamomile's Garden.
Ana worked so hard at brainstorming a list of things that would be in her dream garden, including a pool, a quiet reading area, a swing or two, a cherry tree & even more....
She is still working on getting it all drawn with colored pencils & then we will label all of the fun aspects of the garden.
Oh & Dave built us a beautiful, functional school area this week too. We are thankful to have a sunny place to do school!
