it better be plated with gold.....

Well, Dave said the other day that for all the waiting we are doing for this immigration approval, it better be plated with gold or something.
It came!!!! It was NOT gold-plated, but it said those long-awaited words: "Notice of favorable determination concerning application for advance processing of orphan petition"!!!!!
That is a very long & multi-syllabled way of saying the government is in favor of us bringing home our sweeties!!!!! Since our adoption agency requires this approval to be placed on "the list," we have been made officially ready to recieve a referral today!
We will keep the blog updated with what happens next....The agency states that we could wait up to 3-4 months for a referral of our two children, but it is really impossible to guess.
Thanks for standing with us through this journey.

In the mean time...

Well, it seems that things have slowed to the point known by many as "stop". It reminds me of the scene in Master and Commander when the ship has no wind and is just stuck in the open ocean, helpless and adrift, with nothing in sight as far as the eye can see. Okay, enough positive thinking...

Our NCIS approval has not returned, there are no waiting children meeting our requirements even if we were ready, and it is becoming painfully obvious that the 0-3 months is looking more like the 3-5 months that they are now stating.

So what do we do while we wait? We are working on the house still. It is hard to believe that it has been a year to the month since we moved in. There is a large amount done, and yet lots to do. I am trying to get up the gutts to do more painting. The landing area has been trimmed once (almost to completion) and the first round took nearly 2 hours...so I am not looking forward to finishing and starting again. It will be worth it.

Our oldest is our new mower...so that is nice. Our beloved middle childi is in love with the neighbor's dog (and pretty much any animal that gives her attention). Our youngest just had a birthday party. Also, he has learned to ride a bike...so that is pretty sweet as well. The garden planting is just around the corner... along with the end of school and traveling. I am sure it will all work out in the end. Until then, I guess I should try and enjoy the view from the deck of this ship.
